Siegfried Borgwardt (born June 27, 1957 in Naumburg (Saale) ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He has been a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt since 2002 .
Life and work
In 1974 he attended polytechnic high school and in 1974 and 1977, respectively, did his training as a fully qualified seaman in deep-sea fishing with a high school diploma and an additional training as an electric fitter. Until 1983 he worked as an electrical fitter in Leuna . In 1988 he completed his studies at the technical school for political science "Edwin-Hoernle" Weimar with a degree in political science. With the decision of the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK) of April 24, 1998 on the equivalence of educational qualifications within the meaning of Art. 37, Paragraph I of the Unification Agreement, the qualification as a Diplomverwaltungswirt / FH was postgraduate.
He is Protestant, married and has two children.
Politics / party
Borgwardt joined the GDR CDU in 1979 .
In 1983 he took on honorary and full-time positions in the CDU. Since 1983 he has been a member of the CDU district executive committee. In 1989 he was a founding member of the Young Union of the GDR (CDJ).
MP
Borgwardt has been a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt for constituency 25 ( Jessen ) since April 2002 . For his parliamentary group, he is a member of the committees for federal and European affairs as well as the media, law and the constitution, the election review committee, the tenth parliamentary committee of inquiry and the council of elders. He is also managing director of the CDU district association Wittenberg (on leave since 2011) and was regional manager of the CDU district association Anhalt-Zerbst and Wittenberg. Since March 15, 2016 he has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament.

Borgwardt has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jakob Kaiser Foundation Königswinter e. V. and 1st Deputy Chairman of the Sachsen-Anhalt Foundation. Since 2000 he has been a member of the Schützenverein 1990 Wittenberg e. V. He is also deputy chairman of the board of directors and the credit committee of Sparkasse Wittenberg .
