Jan Redmann

Jan Lars Redmann (born December 16, 1979 in Pritzwalk ) is a German politician ( CDU ), lawyer and has been a member of the Brandenburg state parliament since 2014 , in which he has also been chairman of the Christian Democrats since 2019.

Life

Redmann grew up in Wittstock and graduated from high school in Wittstock in 1999. In 2009 he completed his law studies with the second state examination and has worked as a lawyer in a leading law firm specializing in construction and public procurement law since 2010.

He received his doctorate from the University of Cologne in 2010 .

politics

From 2006 to 2009 he was state chairman of the Junge Union Brandenburg. Since 2009 he has been district chairman of the CDU Ostprignitz-Ruppin and from 2011 to 2015 he was deputy state chairman of the CDU Brandenburg .

In the state elections in Brandenburg on September 25, 2014, Redmann entered the Brandenburg state parliament via the CDU state list. There he initially acted as the parliamentary managing director of the CDU state parliamentary group.

On September 10, 2019, Redmann was unanimously elected as the new parliamentary group chairman of the CDU.
