Wolfgang Reinhart (born May 3, 1956 in Bad Mergentheim ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From April 2005 to May 12, 2011 he was Minister for Federal, European and International Affairs as well as the federal state representative of Baden-Württemberg , previously from July 15, 2004 State Secretary in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Finance. Since May 2016 he has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

Reinhart attended the Tauberbischofsheim commercial school and graduated from the commercial high school there in 1976. He studied law, economics and political science. Reinhart passed his first state law examination in 1981. He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Mannheim . In 1984 he received his doctorate. Reinhart passed the second state examination in 1985. He has been working as a lawyer in Tauberbischofsheim since 1985 . In addition, from 1987 he was a lecturer in labor and commercial law at the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences and has been an honorary professor since June 1998.

From July 2004 to April 2005 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance of Baden-Württemberg , then in April 2005, as the successor to Rudolf Köberle , he became Federal Minister and Plenipotentiary of the State of Baden-Württemberg at the federal government with voting rights in the government, as well as coordinator of the Union-led federal states in Berlin. On June 4, 2008, Reinhart became Minister for Federal and European Affairs and Head of the State Ministry until February 2010, as well as the federal state's representative of Baden-Württemberg. On February 24, 2010 Reinhart was again Minister for Federal, European and International Affairs and authorized representative of the state of Baden-Württemberg at the federal government. At the same time, he was coordinator of all 16 federal states in the mediation committee in Berlin until May 12, 2011, as well as media minister from 2008 to 2011.

Reinhart's political career began in 1979 when he became a member of the district council in the Main-Tauber district and the regional association of the Heilbronn-Franken region . Since April 1992 he has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg without interruption ; since 2008 he has been a member or deputy member of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union.

From 2005 to 2011 he was district chairman of the CDU North Württemberg. Between 2004 and May 2011, Reinhart accompanied numerous committees as an economic and financial expert: MFG Medien- und Filmgesellschaft BW mbH , Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH and Staatliche Toto-Lotto GmbH Baden-Württemberg, each as chairman of the supervisory board, the Baden-Württembergische Bank , the state foundation Baden-Württemberg gGmbH each as a member of the supervisory board, LBBW Landesbank Baden-Württemberg , and Südwestrundfunk each as a member of the board of directors.

Reinhart is currently a member of the Presidium of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation and a member of the Supervisory Board of Volksbank Main-Tauber eG. Reinhart is chairman of the administrative board of the Bad Mergentheim spa administration and president of the society for the promotion of fencing in Tauberbischofsheim . Reinhart has been a member of the supervisory board of Baden-Württemberg Stiftung gGmbH since May 2016 and of the L-Bank since the last quarter of 2016. He has also been on the Supervisory Board of SV Sparkassenversicherung Advisory Board South since the summer of 2016.

As a commercial lawyer, Reinhart is co-founder of the law firm Reinhart Kober Großkinsky, which today has a total of eleven lawyers and 45 employees. Since June 2011 Reinhart has been teaching again as an honorary professor at Heilbronn University. At the Federal Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises ( BVMW ), Reinhart worked from December 2014 to January 2016 as "Federal Managing Director Politics". As planned, he gave up this office at the beginning of the election campaign for the state elections in 2016.

At the beginning of the legislative period of the 16th state parliament, Reinhart was elected chairman of the second largest parliamentary group since then, the CDU parliamentary group. In the internal election he prevailed against Willi Stächele by a majority . The CDU parliamentary group, together with the Bündnis90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group, forms the government coalition in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg. Reinhart is a member of the CDU Baden-Wuerttemberg State Executive Committee through his function as CDU parliamentary group leader and also sits on the Presidium of the Baden-Wuerttemberg State Parliament.

Reinhart is married and has two children. He lives with his family in Tauberbischofsheim .
