Franz Hermann (politician)

Franz Hermann (* 25. January 1904 in Großschönach ; † 2. December 1993 in Herdwangen-Schönach ) was a German theologian , economist and politician of the CDU .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Konstanz in 1925 , Hermann studied Catholic theology at the University of Freiburg and at St. Peter's Monastery . He put his ordination from, was from 1930 to 1932 as a vicar in Säckingen active and additionally began studying economics at the University of Freiburg, which he awarded the degree of Dr. rer. pole. finished. From 1939 to 1943 he worked as a religion teacher at a business school. From 1947 to 1961 he worked as a research assistant and later with a teaching position at the Institute for Caritas Science at Freiburg University under the direction of Linus Bopp and, from 1959, Karl Deuringer.

Hermann was chairman of Caritas in Freiburg im Breisgau from 1944 to 1951 , was appointed cathedral curator of the Freiburg Minster after World War II and also worked as a private lecturer.

From 1952 to 1960 Hermann was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament and from 1953 to 1960 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

From 1960 to 1975 he was the director of the Borromeo Association in Bonn . In 1981 he retired.

Honor

On April 26, 1975 he was awarded the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit. The awards took place on April 26, 1975 in the New Palace in Stuttgart .
