Camill Wurz (born September 26, 1905 in Offenburg , † February 9, 1986 in Ottersweier ) was a German politician ( CDU ). He was president of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

education and profession

Wurz attended the Grimmelshausen Gymnasium in Offenburg and became a member of the PV Arminia Offenburg student association . He then studied law and political science at the Universities of Freiburg , Berlin and Heidelberg . During his studies he became a member of the KDStV Hercynia Freiburg im Breisgau in the CV . In 1931 he passed his state examination. Then he went to the judicial service, where he worked as a chief magistrate. From 1939 to 1945 he had to do military service as a soldier.

After the war he worked as a lawyer in Baden-Baden from 1947 .

family

Wurz spent his twilight years in Baden-Baden. He was married to Gertrud geb. Just and had three children.

Political party

In 1937 he joined the NSDAP and in 1947 the CDU. In 1956 he was elected as a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg, where from 1960 he headed the CDU parliamentary group.

Public offices

In 1968 Wurz was elected President of the State Parliament. He also held this office after the state elections in 1972. At the end of the legislative period he then renounced a new candidacy in the state elections in 1976. The newly elected state parliament then elected its previous deputy Erich Ganzenmüller as its new president.
