Gustav Wabro
Gustav Wabro (* 14. May 1933 in Neudorf in German Reichenau , Czechoslovakia ; † 25. June 2018 in Aalen ) was a German lawyer and politician of the CDU .
education and profession
After graduating from high school, Wabro studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . In 1958 and 1962 he took his legal state exams and was then a legal assessor at the Biberach district office . From 1964 he was a judge at the Sigmaringen Administrative Court and from 1967 he worked at the Federal Ministry of the Interior and at the representation of the state of Baden-Württemberg at the federal level.
Political activity
In 1970, he was the council of the county Aalen the district selected. After the district reform in 1973 he remained district administrator of the newly formed Ostalbkreis . Then in 1980 he went to the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg as Ministerial Director and Head of Office .
1984 appointed him Prime Minister Lothar Späth to the Secretary of State and Plenipotentiary of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg to the Federation. He held this office until 1998. From 1992 to 2001 he was also a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .
Other offices
For many years, Wabro was the regional chairman of the Federation of Expellees in Baden-Württemberg and a member of the board of the German-Hungarian Society. From 1988 to the end of 1998 he was chairman of the board of trustees of the Donauschwäbischen Kulturstiftung of the state of Baden-Württemberg and in 1991 the German founding chairman of the mixed government commission Hungary / Baden-Württemberg. He was also chairman of the board of trustees of the Kapfenburg Castle Foundation for many years , member of the board of trustees of Aalen University , member of the advisory board of the German-Mozambican Society and member of the SWR Broadcasting Council.

- Honorary doctorate Dr. jur hc of the Lorand-Eötvös-Wissenschaftsuniversität for extraordinary services to the development of the Hungarian / Baden-Wuerttemberg cooperation and to the promotion of the Hungarian wish to join the European Union
- Honorary Senator of Aalen University
- Great Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany 1998
- Culture Prize 2000 of the German-Hungarian Society
- Merit Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg 2001
Family and private
After leaving politics, he worked as a lawyer for the law firm GSK Stockmann + Kollegen . Wabro was married to Mechthild born in 1959. Zeifang, with whom he had two children. He had been a member of the Catholic student associations KDStV Tuiskonia Munich and AV Guestfalia Tübingen as well as the KAV Capitolina Rome , all in the CV .
