Bodo Löttgen

Bodo Löttgen (born May 5, 1959 in Elsenroth ) is a German politician ( CDU ). Since June 30, 2012 he has been Secretary General of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia . He handed this office over to Josef Hovenjürgen in 2017 . After he had already been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 2005 to 2012 , he was elected chairman of the CDU parliamentary group on June 29, 2017 after his return to the state parliament.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1979 to 1981, Löttgen trained as a law enforcement officer . From 1981 to 1984 he completed his studies at the Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration , which he completed in 1984 with a degree in administrative management . Since 1984 he has been working as chief detective at the Federal Criminal Police Office.

In the state elections in May 2005 , Löttgen received 51.1 percent of the vote in the constituency of Oberbergischer Kreis II and entered the 14th state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia . In the state elections in May 2010 he won the constituency with 42.2 percent of the first votes. He was a full member of the Committee on Innovation, Science, Research and Technology and the Committee on Local Policy and Administrative Structural Reform. In the early state elections in May 2012, he was defeated by the SPD candidate Roland Adelmann in his constituency . Since Löttgen was not covered by the state list, he left the state parliament. On June 30, 2012 he became Secretary General of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia .

In the state election on May 14, 2017 , Löttgen won the constituency again; he moved into the 17th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia and became chairman of the CDU parliamentary group there.

He has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA since November 25, 2019 .
