First mention

  • In 1341 the place was mentioned for the first time in a document, namely an agreement on a castle truce and the limitation of a bifang to Homburg ( Bad Berleburg archive ). Spelling of the first mention : Elsenrode
  • 1816 Elsenroth belonged to the Marienberghausen community and after the merger in 1969 to Nümbrecht .
  • 1899 Elsenrother citizens found a water cooperative .
  • 1913 Foundation of the gymnastics and sports club e. V.
  • 1966 Foundation of the non-profit association Elsenroth e. V.
