The place is about 5 kilometers southwest of the center of Nümbrecht as the crow flies. The eponymous brook forms the border to the neighboring Rhein-Sieg district and flows west into the Bröl .

history

In 1464 the place was mentioned for the first time ("Homburger Grenzweise "). The spelling of the first mention was Straentzenbach .
