Winterborn is a district of Nümbrecht in the Oberbergischer Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia within the administrative district of Cologne .
Location and description
The place is about three kilometers as the crow flies from the center of Nümbrecht .
Until the end of 1955 there was a stop of the Kleinstein – Waldbröl railway in Winterborn .
history
First mention
In 1144 the place was mentioned for the first time in the "Royal Confirmation of Ownership for the Reichskloster Villach" (Main State Archive Düsseldorf , Villach Abbey Document 4). The spelling of the first mention was Wintreburon . In 1994 the village square was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Johannes Rau , for the 850th anniversary.
