Heddinghausen is a district of Nümbrecht in the Oberbergischer Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia within the administrative district of Cologne .

Location and description

The place is about two kilometers west of the city center of Nümbrecht.

history

Heddinghausen was first mentioned in documents and copies from the Knechtsteden monastery in 1155, for example in a document from Pope Hadrian IV from 1155 on the possessions of the monastery and the confirmation of the right to the tithe of a court in Heddinchusen . In the imperial charter of 1155 there is confirmation by Friedrich Barbarossa .

In 1875 a fire raged in the village and destroyed many houses.

Culture and sights

As part of the competition Our village should become more beautiful , Heddinghausen was awarded six times in the context of district competitions (1990 silver, 1992 gold + special prize, 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2002 gold), four times in the context of state competitions (1995 bronze, 1997 and 2000 silver + Special prize, 2003 gold) and one award in the national competition (2004 gold).

The Heddinghausen Music Association exists in the village and emerged from the "Heddinghausen Trombone Choir" founded in 1908. On January 20, 2009, the association was awarded the honorary prize "DER DANK - Ehrensache Kultur" from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for its long-term youth work.

  • Sebastian Schöler, * 1681 (in the current Geiz house) † 1769. Word and leader of the Homburg tax rebellion around 1730. Since 2005 a path in Heddinghausen Mitte has been named after him.
