Oberbernbach is a district of Nümbrecht in the Oberbergischer Kreis in southern North Rhine-Westphalia within the administrative district of Cologne .

Location and description

The place is between Wiehl in the north and Gaderoth in the south. The place is as the crow flies about 4 km northeast of the center of Nümbrecht.

history

First mention

The place Oberbernbach (Oberbergischer Kreis) is mentioned for the first time as "Berenbach" in 1131, when Pope Innocent II confirmed the court there as the property of the Bonn Kassiusstift. The place was also mentioned in a document in 1447, namely in an "invoice from the rent master Joh. Van Flamersfelt ."
