Evgraf Fedorov ( Russian Евграф Степанович Фёдоров ., Scientific transliteration Evgraf Fedorov Stepanovič ; born December 10 . Jul / 22. December  1853 greg. In Orenburg ; † 21st May 1919 in Petrograd ) was a Russian mathematician, crystallographer and mineralogist. Parallel to (but methodologically largely independent) he derived the 230 crystallographic space groups from Arthur Moritz Schoenflies . Fjodorow invented the universal turntable in 1892 , an additional device for light microscopes that is used to analyze the geometrical and optical properties of minerals.
