The Financial T ('a) ime (FT) was an online school newspaper from the commercial school Tauberbischofsheim in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg from 2004 to 2017 . Since 2017, it has been run by the founder and former members of the editorial team as an independent FT-Abi platform .
history
2004–2017: School newspaper Financial T ('a) ime
In 2004 Klaus Schenck founded the school newspaper Financial T ('a) ime at the Tauberbischofsheim Commercial School . The online edition started in 2008 and has been redesigned as a “living book” since 2010. In October 2010, the editorial team began filming school-based lesson content as well as the Abitur presentation exams (after passing the exam) and putting them online in a separate YouTube channel in order to offer schoolchildren throughout Germany the opportunity to prepare for class work and Abitur as part of e-learning . These videos, u. a. last year's German Abitur readings have already been called several hundred thousand times. In 2011, the FT launched an independent “German” department as part of its online edition, within which “German as a foreign language” is in the foreground. According to the FT editorial team, the aim of the German department is to “create articles with light but interesting texts for non-native speakers.” In 2012, the SWR4 radio became aware of the Financial T ('a) ime through the press interviewed the school newspaper editors. On April 19, 2013 - the “Day of the German Language in the Netherlands” - the Financial T ('a) ime was invited by a Dutch school, the Martinuscollege in Grootebroek (near Hoorn on the IJsselmeer ), to present this day as “German “-Native speakers. On April 2, 2014 was a TV report of the National Show of Baden-Wuerttemberg ime to visit the school newspaper editors of the Financial T ( 'a) in the Media Workshop 2014 of the SWR television broadcast.
Since 2017: FT-Abi platform as an independent media portal
At the end of the 2016/2017 school year, the student newspaper time at the Tauberbischofsheim Commercial School ended. Since August 1, 2017, the Financial T ('a) ime has been run as an FT Abi platform by its founder, Klaus Schenck (as a small business owner), and former members of the editorial team as an independent media portal. The FT-Abi platform continues to operate a YouTube channel, two homepages and is still responsible for the content of the youth page in the municipal newsletter Tauberbischofsheim AKTUELL .
structure
expenditure
The first print edition was published in 2005 (main topic: "Sport"). In 2006 (main topic: “youth scene”) and 2007 (main topic: “research and ethics”) two further print editions followed. In order to avoid the pressure of constant publications and increased printing costs, the FT decided in 2008 to publish primarily online (including “schuelerzeitung-tbb.de”, “jugendnetz.de”) and only occasionally publish a print edition. A video channel has supplemented the offer since 2010. The fourth and final print edition was published in 2013 (main topic: “Cooperation with WIS ”).
Youth side
Since 2013, the FT has been responsible for the content of a youth page (“BY young people FOR young people”) in the municipal newsletter Tauberbischofsheim AKTUELL , which is held twice a month in all households in the municipality of Tauberbischofsheim . The editors of the Financial T ('a) ime reach over 10,000 readers with their youth page every fortnight in the 6,300 Tauberbischofsheimer households.
Communication channels
For the digital publications of the FT-Abi platform, the communication channels of the former school newspaper have been continued since 2017, including its own homepage, a smartphone app "FT - KSTBB" and the social websites Facebook, Twitter and YouTube (channel "FT-Abi" Platform").
Cooperations
The Financial T ('a) ime maintains a number of partnerships at home and abroad:
VS United special furniture factories
In 2011, with the help of VS Vereinigte Spezialmöbelfabriken from Tauberbischofsheim, all Goethe Institutes in the world were contacted with the aim of promoting “German” for non-native speakers in schools abroad through student articles. In the same year all German schools abroad in Europe as well as 160 HR directors from various companies were written to to distribute their own articles. In 2012, FT editors presented new presentation techniques on the “ActivBoard” at the “VS Media Day”. This resulted in contact with "MedienLB" from Bavaria. As a result, four FT videos were selected for a DVD on "ActiveBoards", which is available in Kreisbildstellen across Germany .
University of Würzburg
As part of the “uni @ school” project of the University of Würzburg , the newspaper has been reporting on everyday university life since 2013. In the Senate Hall of the University of Würzburg, the university management received representatives from the school newspaper editorial team for a press conference. "To reduce the number of dropouts" is the goal of the University of Würzburg. On the part of the Financial T ('a) ime a university series was created in which students present their subjects.
Würth Industry Service
In 2012, during the “Open Day” on the Drillberg near Bad Mergentheim, the first contact with Würth Industrie Service (WIS) was made through Armin Rother, the person responsible for the exhibition “Management culture around the Trillberg - then and now”. As a result of the subsequent collaboration, a printed edition of the school newspaper was published in 2013. Since then there have been several visits and return visits. In 2016, WIS-Jobworld prepared the school newspaper editors for everyday application and professional life through role plays and lectures.
School newspaper of the "Shenzhen Middle School"
In 2012, the FT serial letters to all Goethe Institutes resulted in contact with the school newspaper of the “Shenzhen Middle School” from China, which in 2013 resulted in a school newspaper partnership. In the same year a Chinese delegation visited the editorial office of the Financial T ('a) ime.
Former editor
Editorial work
The editorial team consisted of four to six changing members with the advisory teacher Klaus Schenck. Students took on the role of editor-in-chief as well as the responsibility for the youth page in the municipal newsletter and the YouTube channel “FT-Abi-Plattform”. A special feature of the editorial work was a declaration of commitment by the students regarding their commitment when they joined the school newspaper and a three-month trial period. Participation in editorial meetings was possible via an online switching conference.
