history

On January 13, 1999, Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG (WIS) was founded in Künzelsau through the spin-off of the Industry Division from Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG . In the same month the WIS acquired the barracks grounds and the military training area of ​​the Deutschordenskaserne in Bad Mergentheim. The site was subsequently converted into the Würth industrial park. On January 1, 2000, Würth Industrie Service took over the operational business of the Industry Division of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG. In February of the same year, a Kanban logistics center was inaugurated, which was expanded to include an additional 5,500 pallet spaces in 2003.

At the end of 2004, the first high-bay warehouse with 15,000 pallet spaces and a height of 45 meters was put into operation. In 2007 a second high-bay warehouse was built and directly connected to the existing warehouse.

In 2011 an expanded logistics center with a new high-bay warehouse, an OSR shuttle warehouse and a new incoming and outgoing goods complex was inaugurated. The number of employees exceeded 1,000.

In 2012 the mark of 1,000,000 items in the industrial range was exceeded.

On January 16, 2013, Würth Industrie Service presented an optical ordering system for materials management.

In the 2017 financial year, sales exceeded the 500 million euro mark.

In 2018 the turnover was 567.7 million euros, the number of employees rose from 1489 (in 2017) to 1639.

Würth Museum

The permanent exhibition "Management culture around the Trillberg - then and now" in the Würth industrial park on the site of the former Teutonic barracks on the Drillberg aims to illustrate good and bad forms of leadership culture using historical examples.
