The Teutonic Order barracks in Bad Mergentheim was a Bundeswehr location in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg from 1957 to 1993 . After the purchase of the area by the Würth Group , the headquarters of Würth Industrie Service GmbH & Co. KG (WIS) were converted as part of a conversion .

Deutschmeister barracks
A Deutschmeister barracks was built in Bad Mergentheim as early as 1935 . At the end of the Second World War it was used as a military hospital and subsequently converted into a hospital.
Teutonic order barracks
In the post-war period, between 1957 and 1964, the Teutonic Order barracks were built at a new location on the Bad Mergentheimer Drillberg. The Bundeswehr location was given up in 1993.
Conversion: Würth Industrie Service headquarters
After the purchase of the area by the Würth Group, the headquarters of Würth Industrie Service, an international trading company in the field of assembly and fastening technology and logistics service provider, was established . Since then, the conversion of the former Bundeswehr location has progressed. In addition to the conversion of existing buildings, new company buildings and high-bay warehouses were built.
Surname
The Bundeswehr site was given the name Teutonic Order Barracks because Bad Mergentheim was the official seat of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order from 1526 to 1809 .
