Bernhard Ritter (politician)

Bernhard Ritter (born March 6, 1950 in Wolkenburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 1998 he was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament .

Life and education

Bernhard Ritter attended to 1966 POS and until 1968 the Community College, 1966 to 1969, he made professional education as an electrician. From 1970 to 1978 he studied theology and qualified as a pastoral psychologist from 1984 to 1987 . From 1969 to 1974 he worked as a high-voltage fitter in Halle, Leuna, Buna and, since 1974, as a pastor at the Sankt-Johannes-Kirche in Bennungen, Sangerhausen district. He was head of the working group “Liberating Pastoral Care”.

Bernhard Ritter, who is of Protestant denomination, is married and has six children.

Bernhard Ritter was independent in the GDR and joined the CDU in February 1990 after reunification . He was a co-founder of the theological working group "Christ and Society in the GDR". In the local elections in May 1990 he was elected mayor of Bennungen . He was directly elected to the state parliament in the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990 in the state constituency of Quedlinburg II - Sangerhausen II (WK 47). In the state parliament he was chairman of the 1st parliamentary committee of inquiry.

Bernhard Ritter is chairman of the association “Society for Life Orientation LEO e. V. ", which offers seminars to" heal " gays and lesbians of their sexual orientation . Many of these methods go back to the Dutch psychologist Gerard JM van den Aardweg , who is also on the scientific advisory board of Leo e. V. sits. The Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband Sachsen-Anhalt, whose member Leo e. V. excluded the association from its ranks. The LEO e. V. defended itself against the accusation of homophobia through counter statements and a citizens' forum.
