Bennungen is a district of the municipality of Südharz in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt .

Bennungen is located on the Helme , in the fertile Golden Aue , north of the Kyffhäuser on the L 151 leading to the district town of Sangerhausen, 13 km to the east, and the Halle – Hann railway line. Münden .
history
Bennungen was first mentioned in a document in 1112 . The knight family of the same name " von Bennungen " had their headquarters here.
On January 1, 2010 the communities Bennungen, Breitenstein , Breitungen , Dietersdorf , Drebsdorf , Hainrode , Hayn (Harz) , Kleinleinungen , Questenberg , Roßla , Rottleberode , Schwenda and Uftrungen merged to form the new community Südharz. At the same time, the Roßla-Südharz administrative community , to which Bennungen belonged, was dissolved.

- Grave site in the local cemetery for a Jewish concentration camp inmate whose name is unknown
- Former manor house of the manor with some buildings dating back to the 16th century. The half-timbered building was made safe in the 1990s because it was in danger of collapsing, and gradually rebuilt from 1993 to 1999. The manor with the manor is now a leisure home.
