coat of arms

The coat of arms and the flag were approved by the district of Mansfeld-Südharz on July 28, 2015.

Blazon : "Divided by gold and green by a double-row slanted left bar made of silver and red with 17 places, above a striding black stag, below a golden ear of barley, accompanied by two golden oak leaves."

For historical reasons, the coat of arms shows a striding deer in the upper field. It is the heraldic animal of the Stolberg princes, who have shaped most of the southern Harz community for centuries. Geographically, the southern Harz region is known for its unique landscape and its diverse flora and fauna. The color green in the lower field of the coat of arms stands for this. The ear of wheat is supposed to symbolize the fertile golden floodplain and the oak leaves represent the wealth of forests in the southern Harz region. The two fields of the coat of arms are divided by a nested oblique left bar. The interlocking symbolizes the different districts, which together create a harmonious picture. The colors red and silver are the dominant colors in the coat of arms of the district of Mansfeld-Südharz.

The coat of arms was designed by the heraldist Jürgen Prell from Roßla.

The colors of the church are black and yellow.

flag

The flag is black and yellow (1: 1) striped (horizontal shape: stripes running horizontally, lengthways shape: stripes running vertically) and centered with the municipal coat of arms.

traffic

In the south, the federal motorway 38 Halle - Göttingen with the junction Roßla runs through the municipality. The south Harz motorway triangle of the same name between the A 38 and the A 71 is not in the Südharz community, but rather in the area of the Sangerhausen and Allstedt communities .

The Halle – Hann railway line runs parallel . Münden . The regional railways (Halle–) Sangerhausen - Nordhausen and part of the regional express train Halle – Nordhausen, operated by DB Regio AG, stop at the stations Bennungen and Roßla .

From the Halle – Hann. Münden branches off the Berga-Kelbra – Stolberg (Harz) railway line, which is no longer used for passenger traffic , at Berga-Kelbra station . The Uftrungen, Rottleberode and Stolberg (Harz) stops were in the area of the southern Harz municipality.
