Ahlsdorf is a municipality in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt . With an area of 5.09 km², it is the smallest municipality in Saxony-Anhalt.

Geographical location
Ahlsdorf is about 7 km west of Eisleben . The community belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Mansfelder Grund-Helbra , which has its administrative seat in Helbra . The Dippelsbach flows through the village and the Dippelsdorf desert lies on its upper course west of Ahlsdorf .
Neighboring communities
Neighboring communities are Benndorf in the north, the city of Mansfeld in the west, Hergisdorf in the south and Helbra in the east.

history
The community was first mentioned in a document in 780.
The spelling of the place used to be Alsdorf . The village owned an estate and a branch church from Hergisdorf. There was also a windmill in the vicinity . In 1822 546 people lived here in 85 houses that belonged to the Mansfeld mountain range . Until 1848 a patrimonial court had its seat in Ahlsdorf.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Ziegelrode was incorporated.
During the GDR era, a children's holiday camp was set up as a tent camp in the Ziegelrode district .

The local council from Ahlsdorf has 11 members.
mayor
The honorary mayor Detlef Wachsmann was elected for the first time on June 26, 1994. He was re-elected in 2001 and 2008. In May 2015, Karsten Patz was elected as the new mayor in the second ballot.

The coat of arms was approved on November 22, 1993 by the regional president of the Halle administrative district and registered under no. 53/1993 in the Saxony-Anhalt state archive .

The Protestant Saint Martin Church dates in part from the 16th century. The war memorial Ahlsdorf located in the local cemetery is more recent . In 2018 the listed bridge over the Dippelsbach in Ahlsdorf was replaced by a new building.
