The Sankt-Martin-Kirche is the Protestant church in the village of Ahlsdorf in Saxony-Anhalt . It belongs to the parish of Helbra in the parish of Eisleben-Sömmerda of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

architecture

The large, massive church tower dates back to the middle of the 16th century. The sound openings in the tower are decorated with curtain arches made of stone . The nave, which is only slightly wider in relation to the tower, was built in 1852 instead of a previous building. The eastern end has a three-sided closure.

Interior design

The church hall has a flat ceiling. The furnishings date from the time the nave was built in the middle of the 19th century, in particular a horseshoe gallery and the seating.

A carved altar that was restored in 1979 and is located in the cafeteria is remarkable . It is the blessing of winning Maria two the napkin shown holding angels. On the right side there is Saint Anthony and John the Evangelist. Saint Martin and the apostle Andrew are shown on the left. On the inside of the altar wing, Saints Catherine , Laurentius and Margareta are depicted on the right , and Saints Michael , Anna and Sebastian on the left.

In the vestibule on the ground floor of the tower is Heinrich von Drachsdorf's gravestone from the first half of the 16th century, on which the deceased is depicted as a relief.

Rectory

There is a war memorial south of the church. Otherwise the churchyard is completely leveled (as of April 2008). The Jagemann family crypt has been preserved on the west side of the churchyard . There is a carved figure of Saint Martin in the rectory.

The theologian Johann Michael was pastor in Ahlsdorf from 1670 to 1675.
