Location of the administrative community in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz

In the administrative community Roßla-Südharz from the Saxon-Anhalt district of Mansfeld-Südharz , the administrative community Roßla and the administrative community Stolberg / Harz as well as three other municipalities joined forces on January 1, 2005 to handle their administrative business. It was in the southern Harz and in the Golden Aue .

On 1 October 2005, the communities were Breitenbach , Großleinungen and Wolfsberg after Sangerhausen incorporated.

13 of the total of 15 of the municipalities united in the administrative community merged in the course of the municipal reform in Saxony-Anhalt on January 1, 2010 to form the unitary municipality of Südharz with its seat in Roßla. The administrative community was thus dissolved.

The city of Stolberg (Harz) and the municipality of Wickerode were negative about the formation of such a unified municipality. On September 1, 2010 they were also incorporated.

Most recently, 10,966 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2006) lived in an area of ​​236.36 km². The last head of the administrative community was Anja Wöbken.
