The motorway triangle Südharz (abbreviation: AD Südharz ; short form: Dreieck Südharz ) is a motorway triangle in southwestern Saxony-Anhalt . It connects the federal highway 38 ( Südharzautobahn ) with the federal highway 71 ( Sangerhausen - Schweinfurt ).

geography

The triangle is not located in the southern Harz municipality of the same name , but in the urban areas of Allstedt and Sangerhausen in the Mansfeld-Südharz district , between the districts of Ober- and Niederröblingen . It is located about 95 km east of Göttingen , about 55 km north of Erfurt and about 45 km west of Halle (Saale) . A few kilometers south is the state border with Thuringia .

The triangle lies on the edge of the Saale-Unstrut-Triasland and Kyffhäuser nature parks with the Kyffhäuser monument .

The Südharz motorway triangle has junction number 1 on the A 71 and number 17 on the A 38.

history

The working title for the motorway triangle was AD Oberröblingen .

It was opened to traffic on April 29, 2013 after three and a half years of construction together with the A 71 motorway section from Heldrungen to the Südharz triangle. The A 38 had been open to traffic in this area since 2002. Construction work in the form of the bridge structure was already carried out during the construction of the A 38.

In the spring of 2013, the state of Saxony-Anhalt registered the construction of a northern extension of the A 71 to the A 14 for the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2030 . This project would have expanded the southern Harz motorway triangle into a motorway junction . However, due to the sharp decline in population in the Mansfelder Land , the economic assessment of this project found that the cost-benefit ratio was too low. Therefore, the extension was not included in the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2030.

Analogous to the motorway junction south resin was posted on January 1, 2019 the motorway junction Vienenburg in Lower Saxony district of Goslar to motorway junction Nordharz ( A 36 / 369 renamed).

Design and state of development

Both motorways have four lanes. All connecting ramps are single-track.

The triangle was designed as a right-handed trumpet .
