The Halle-Süd motorway triangle (abbreviation: AD Halle-Süd ; short form: Halle-Süd triangle ) is a motorway triangle in Saxony-Anhalt near the city of Halle (Saale) . It connects the federal highway 38 ( Südharzautobahn ) with the federal highway 143 ( western bypass Halle ).

geography

The triangle lies in the urban area of Bad Lauchstädt in the Saalekreis . The closest districts are Delitz , Schotterey and Großgräfendorf, as well as Bad Lauchstädt-Stadt. The surrounding cities are Schkopau and Teutschenthal . It is located about 10 km southwest of Halle (Saale) , about 35 km west of Leipzig and about 75 km northeast of Erfurt .

The Halle-Süd motorway triangle has junction number 22 on the A 38 and number 6 on the A 143.

history

On November 18, 2003, the triangle was opened to traffic as part of the Central German Loop . Initially, only the A 143 to the north and the A 38 to the south were passable until the A 38 to the west was opened in December 2008.

The working title of the building was Dreieck Lauchatal .

Design and state of development

Both motorways have four lanes. All connecting ramps have two lanes.

The triangle was laid out as a left-handed trumpet .

Traffic volume

The triangle is used by around 36,000 vehicles every day. With the planned extension of the A 143 to the A 14 and the resulting completion of the Central German Loop , a considerable increase in traffic is to be expected.
