The Halle-Nord motorway triangle is a planned motorway triangle northwest of the city of Halle (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt . In the vicinity of the Halle-Trotha junction, it is to connect the federal motorway 143 as a western bypass of Halle to the federal motorway 14 ( Magdeburg - Nossen ). The motorway triangle would be east of Neutz-Lettewitz . Other surrounding places are Görbitz , Sylbitz , Trebitz , Wallwitz , Gimritz and Beidersee . The B 6 , now Landesstraße 50 , ran parallel to the A 14. The extension of the A 143 and the construction of the triangle would close the gap in the central German loop around Leipzig and Halle.

Planning and expansion

The triangle had at times the working title Dreieck Wallwitz . The triangle was already planned during the construction of the A 14, as preliminary construction work can already be seen. The triangle would get junction number 14 on the A 14; AS Löbejün is number 13 and the next AS, Halle-Trotha, number 15.

Further planning and expansion have been suspended since the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig issued a judgment on January 17, 2007, prohibiting the expansion of the A 143. This is due to Directive 92/43 / EEC , which applies to the Lower Saale Valley Nature Park . For this reason, another planning approval procedure was carried out in 2009 to optimize the ecological permeability of the route. Planning should be completed by 2013.

The nature conservation association NABU Halle announced on May 24, 2018 that it would not go to court again, although it still rejects the motorway. The Saale Valley citizens' initiative and the Hallesche Auenwälder working group support the complaint brought by an entrepreneur against the current planning approval decision, with the aim of finally stopping construction before the Federal Administrative Court. The main proceedings against the planning approval decision will probably not be decided before May 2019, which means that construction could start in 2020 if the parallel north bypass of the city of Halle is not completed beforehand.
