The Nossen motorway triangle (abbreviation: AD Nossen ; short form: Nossen triangle ) is a motorway triangle in Saxony , which is located near Dresden . It connects the federal highway 4 ( Aachen - Eisenach - Görlitz ; Europastraße 40 ) with the federal highway 14 ( Wismar - Magdeburg - Dresden).

geography

The triangle lies in the urban area of Nossen in the district of Meißen . The surrounding towns and communities are Reinsberg and Klipphausen . The closest districts are Deutschebora , Eula and Mergenthal in the Nossener area, as well as Rothschönberg and Tanneberg in the Klipphausener area and Hirschfeld in the Reinsberg area. It is located about 75 km southeast of Leipzig , about 40 km northeast of Chemnitz and about 25 km west of Dresden .

The Borsdorf – Coswig railway runs northwest of the triangle .

The Nossen motorway triangle has junction number 76 on the A 4 and number 38 on the A 14.

history

The Nossen junction was opened in 1971 with the completion of the motorway to Leipzig. After the fall of the Berlin Wall , the building was given the uniform designation throughout Germany as the Autobahn triangle. The last major renovations were carried out by 1999 in connection with the six-lane expansion of the A 4 and the relocation of the Triebisch valleys.

Design and state of development

The triangle was laid out as a left-handed trumpet. The triangle at the Chemnitz ramp in the direction of Leipzig has a special structural feature. Instead of a joint guided tour with the Leipzig – Dresden ramp, the route is guided through two additional tunnels under the A 4 and the direct connecting ramp between Dresden and Leipzig. Both ramps connect a few meters further to the A 14 lane in the direction of Leipzig. State road  36 is spanned by two bridges.

The A 4 has six lanes in this area, the A 14 four lanes. The crossings of the A 14 from and to Dresden are two-lane, those to and from Chemnitz are single-lane.

Traffic volume

The triangle is used by around 93,000 vehicles every day.
