history

Hirschfeld was first mentioned in a document in 1158. It is named after the von Hirschfeld family, under whose fiefdom the settlement developed from the manor house there since 1241. The settlement structure of the village is that of a forest hoof village , which aligns itself like a ribbon, largely linearly with the village street and runs through and develops the entire location. A manor developed from the manor , which has been documented since 1551. The associated Vorwerk "Moritztal" in the northeast of the place shows the year "1737".

Katharina von Bora , the wife of Martin Luther , is said to have been baptized in the Hirschfeld Church. The 800-year-old Romanesque stone baptismal font is now located in the cloister of Freiberg Cathedral .

Until 1856, Hirschfeld belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon District Office of Meißen . In 1856 Hirschfeld was affiliated to the Nossen court office and in 1875 to the Meißen administration . During the comprehensive administrative reform in the GDR in 1952, Hirschfeld was assigned to the Freiberg district in the Karl-Marx-Stadt district . Up until the 1950s Friedland was part of Hirschfeld, after which the settlement lost this status.

In 1991, the association assembly of the Sachsenmitte local authority association decided to develop a joint land use plan for the districts of the member communities. At that time, the association included the communities of Hirschfeld, Neukirchen , Dittmannsdorf , Obergruna , Bieberstein and Reinsberg .

In 1994 the development led to the merger with Bieberstein , Dittmannsdorf , Neukirchen and Reinsberg, which was completed on March 1, 1994. Since then, Hirschfeld has been one of five localities in the municipality of Reinsberg. Since 2008 the place belongs to the district of central Saxony.

Population development

The development of the resident population is declining. In the first statistical survey of 1547/51, there were "27 possessed men , 11 cottagers , 45 hooves , with Deutschebora, Eula , Gärtitzsch , Littdorf and Neukirchen 325 residents " . In 1764, 32 possessed men, 21 cottagers, 7 deserted areas, 32 hooves per 20-25 bushels were registered.

In the years from 1834 (554 inhabitants) to 1890 (677 inhabitants) the population grew. The next statistical survey in 1910 showed a slump. A total of 590 inhabitants were recorded. In 1950 there was a population of 781, the development of which moved downwards: in 1964, 707 inhabitants were still registered. On October 3, 1990 the village had 721 inhabitants, on December 31, 1997 it had 696.

Commercial enterprises

  • The pig breeding and fattening facility on Kreisstraße K 7794 (formerly K 33) is still in operation and can partly be further developed for commercial use due to good transport connections.
  • Konrad von Posern , the former knight's / folk estate in the western part of the village, is also still in operation, commercial re-use of the estate area is being considered.

Both companies meet the minimum requirements.

Transport links

Hirschfeld is very well developed in terms of transport infrastructure, especially in the regional and supra-regional network, thanks to its proximity to the A 4 and A 14 motorways north of the settlement (Nossen motorway triangle). The inner road access to the settlement centers Freiberg, Nossen and Meißen is adequately guaranteed by various local roads (including district road K 7794 (formerly K 33)) and the federal road 101 .

Attractions

The town's sights include the manor house of the manor, which is under monument protection , the church and parish mentioned in 1214 , and the Zum Hirsch inn .
