State Road (Saxony)
As state roads in are Saxony state roads referred to in the first place the regional transport serve. Together with the motorways , federal highways and district roads , the state highways form the overarching Saxon road network. The length of the Saxon state road network is 4781 kilometers.

The abbreviation consists of a consecutive number and the preceding capital letter "S" (for example S 177 ). The marking in road traffic is carried out in accordance with the road traffic regulations by small, green-framed, white boards with the number in black letters. The road construction load lies with the federal state of Saxony, which, however, transfers the order management to the individual road construction authorities. This means that the road construction authorities are responsible for the construction and operation of the state roads in their administrative area - as is usual with federal roads.
