Sylbitz

Sylbitz is a district of the municipality Petersberg belonging village Wallwitz in Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

The village is north of Halle (Saale) , south of the place runs the federal highway 14 . The first documentary mention comes from the year 1260 as Sulwitz . In 1925 Sylbitz had 184 inhabitants. On October 1, 1938, it was incorporated into Wallwitz.

Well known is the choir tower church Sylbitz , which was built around 1200. In addition, there are the monument areas An der Eiche 1–7, 9, 10 and Zum Kirschberg 2, 3 .

The philologist Richard Volkmann (1832-1892) was born in Sylbitz .
