The Leine is a left tributary of the Helmets in the southern Harz in Saxony-Anhalt .

The Leine rises north of Hainrode and initially flows east. At the mouth of the Erlbach it bends to the southwest, flows through the Großleinungen , Drebsdorf , Kleinleinungen and flows into Bennungen in the Helmets .

The ironworks mill, which was once operated as a water mill, is located just before its mouth .
