history
The place was first mentioned on May 25, 1468. The place arose around the official allodial knight's estate , which originally belonged to the county of Stolberg , which was in the Sangerhausen office of the Kingdom of Saxony until 1815 and then came to the Sangerhausen district of the Prussian province of Saxony . With this office Agnesdorf was subordinate to the Principality of Saxony-Weissenfels from 1657 to 1748.
On August 9, 1798, the manor, which had been an official manor up to that point, acquired the status of writing. Its owners were: Counts of Stolberg , v. Hopfgarten (until 1572), v. Hoe (from 1572), v. Wackernhagen (until 1748), v. Worbis (from 1748/52), von Linsingen (until 1784), v. Bülzingslöwen, Schlitt (both from 1787), v. Westernhagen, Schönstedt, v. Goiter. Furthermore, the noble Knauth Knutonen family owned on Questenberg from 1463 to 1670 goods in the village. The manor was also the seat of a patrimonial court until 1848 .
In the family of Hoe the original name Angsdorf was still common.
Agnesdorf was part of the parish of Questenberg, and in 1822 there were 11 houses and 87 residents who belonged to the Sangerhausen district .
Until January 1, 2010, Agnesdorf belonged to the Questenberg community . After that, the place became part of the southern Harz community .
