Jürgen Scharf (born September 15, 1952 in Salzwedel ) is a German state politician ( CDU ). From April 2002 to April 2011 he was parliamentary group leader of the Christian Democrats in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

Scharf attended an extended secondary school until 1971, which he graduated with the Abitur. He then completed a mathematics degree at the Otto von Guericke Technical University in Magdeburg until 1975 , which he completed as a mathematician. Then Scharf found a job at what was then the Institute for Varnishes and Paints in Magdeburg. From 1979 to 1990 his employer operated under the name VEB Research and Rationalization Paints and Paints (VEB FRM) in the paint and paints Combine of the GDR. There Scharf was active in applied research in the field of varnishes and paints. In 1976 Scharf joined the CDU block party. For this he sat from 1978 to 1983 as a member of the Magdeburg-Südost municipal district assembly. At the time of political change, Scharf was elected chairman of the works council in the company's successor, Magdeburg Lacke GmbH. In the first state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in October 1990, Scharf ran as a direct candidate in the Magdeburg III constituency and won it just ahead of the SPD's competitor, Wolfgang Ernst . Since then he has been a member of the state parliament. In the 5th electoral period (2006–2011) he represented the constituency of Magdeburg II as a directly elected member. In the state elections in 2011 , he won the direct mandate in the Magdeburg II constituency again with 30.9% of the first votes , thus making it back into the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. In 2016 he left the state parliament.

Scharf is seen as a representative of a balancing political style.
