Subfloor (room)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The blind floor or the back side is a space between the knee floor and the attic . When one speaks of the side wall , this also means the separation of the unheated zones of a building from the heated ones. Aside walls are usually drawn in when the knee stick is up to 90 cm low. From approx. 100 cm you usually do without side walls. Usually the room is so low due to the sloping roof that it can only be used as a storage room or not at all. If it is made accessible, care must be taken to ensure that the vapor barrier is maintained from the inside to the outside and that thermal bridges are avoided.

The constructions of the sub-floor are not yet fully developed. The insulation enables air to flow along heated parts of the building and thus avoidable heat dissipation. In addition, such currents also create the opportunity to introduce unwanted moisture into the structure. Empirical research has also shown traces of mold in many cases . Furthermore, experts also observe inadmissible building rubble in the off-site areas, which indicate defective processes during the construction phase.
