Blindwood

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blind wood or lining wood is a collective term for mostly less high-quality wood that is used as invisible construction wood, for example as supporting timber for floorboards or carrier material for veneers . The wood between the top layers of blockboard is also called blind wood.

Light, less shrinking types of wood such as poplar or conifers are particularly suitable as blind wood in furniture construction .
