Linnenzworch
Linnenzworch was a German folk band that existed from 1976 to 1983. The group came from Winterbach near Stuttgart . Part of the repertoire was presented with Swabian texts.
The band members were:
- Angelika Maier (flutes, forest zither, tenor crummhorn, dulcimer)
- Roswitha Maier (oboe, flute, dulcimer, bass crumhorn, vocals)
- Michael Kannicht (guitar, dulcimer, drums, vocals)
- Reinhard Fischer (guitar, bouzouki, drums, vocals)
- Hans Braun (sound engineering)
The group often combined different folkloric motifs in their pieces, often texts and melodies of different folk songs were combined. Among other things, they performed alternating horn dances , double dances and other folk dances and songs from Pomerania, Transylvania, Hesse, Bavaria, etc. In addition to their three albums, which are sold in Germany by the Hamburg label Eulenspiegel Records and in Switzerland by the Zurich label be-bop-records, the group also has published four song books with folkloric content. In addition, the group was also involved in the peace movement with the publication of other relevant literature. After the band broke up, the founding members Angelika Maier and Reinhard Fischer joined the Saiten Fell & Firlefanz group from around 1990 .
