Blogping

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A blogping is an XML-RPC signal for the blog server set in the blog software. This signal informs the blog server that a post in this blog has changed or a new post has been created.

As a rule, several ping servers can be set with blog software, such as WordPress or blogger.com , to which a signal is sent each time an update is made. There are also services on the internet that allow sending to different blog servers at the same time.

Ping blogs to one another

Another method of exchanging information is to ping blogs directly with one another, for example for references, comments or quotations. This notification can take the form of trackbacks or pingbacks .
