The Blue Mountains are a mountain region in eastern Jamaica . It also houses the highest point in Jamaica, the Blue Mountain Peak with a height of 2,256 meters.

The higher slopes are forested, the high-quality Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is grown on the lower slopes . Two animal species from the Blue Mountains are known that are believed to be extinct today, the butterfly Urania sloanus and the Jamaican petrel .
