The Blue Mountain Peak is the highest mountain in Jamaica at 2256 m . It belongs to the approximately 50 km long mountain range of the Blue Mountains , which are named after the blue haze that adorns their peaks in the morning hours. It is located in the east of the island, near the capital Kingston . The Blue Mountains-John Crow National Park extends around the Blue Mountain Peak. The mountain region is famous for its coffee , which thrives particularly well because of the cooler, rainy climate.
