The Association of German Flower Wholesale and Import Trade eV (BGI) is the nationwide representation of interests of cut flower and import traders as well as potted plant wholesalers for flowers and plants that supply the German market. It is based in the city of Straelen , Herongen district and was founded on July 3, 1965.

Through its members, the association represents at least 75 percent of the German wholesale flower and plant market. The regional associations North, East, South, West and Central belong to it.

A president, a vice-president, the treasurer and two other members form the executive committee of the federal association. This appoints a managing director to handle current affairs .

tasks

The main focus is on national and international political representation as well as on branch marketing. The BGI is the only association in Germany that represents the cut flower wholesale and import trade as well as the potted plant wholesale trade. The BGI works together with partners in order to work together on the entire national and European market.
