Blutschin , also known as Salmerswiler / Salmannsweiler Blutschin , was a measure of salt and meant block or piece. It was a term that was closely associated with the monastery of Salem Abbey near Überlingen on Lake Constance . The monastery had shares in the Salzburg salt pans and supplied, for example, the Wettingen subsidiary .
