Božidar Đelić ( Cyrillic Божидар Ђелић ; born April 1, 1965 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian politician and financial expert.

From 2001 to 2004 he was Minister of Finance and Economy of Serbia. He has conducted successful government borrowing brokerage debt and privatization negotiations. During his tenure, he was Governor for Serbia at the EBRD and Vice Governor of the World Bank .

After the government changed in 2004, he still worked in the team of the new Finance Minister Mlađan Dinkic . In 2005 he became director of the French bank Credit Agricole SA for Western Europe .

At the end of 2006 he was active again in politics and has been Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister since May 15, 2007 and responsible for Serbia's integration into the EU.

He was subsequently chief negotiator for the integration of Serbia into the European Union and coordinator of financial support from the EU. He was also responsible for drawing up the "Serbia 2020" strategy, in line with the corresponding EU plan.

When the European Council decided on December 9th 2011 not to recognize Serbia as an official EU candidate, Božidar Đelić resigned as Deputy Prime Minister for the European Integration of Serbia. On his homepage he gives the reason that he is responsible for this and that he has not kept his promise to Serbia.
