Bo Carter

Bo Carter (born March 21, 1893 in Bolton , Mississippi , † September 21, 1964 in Memphis , Tennessee ), actually Armenter Chatmon , was an American blues guitarist.

Carter was an occasional member of the Mississippi Sheiks , the music group of the Chatmon family, but was also successful solo. Between 1928 and 1940 he recorded over 100 pieces under his own name.

Bo Carter's most famous songs are his Hokum recordings, including Banana in Your Fruit Basket , Pin in Your Cushions , Your Biscuits Are Too Big and Please Warm My Wiener . Mainstream blues was also part of his repertoire. His song Corrine, Corrina , first recorded in 1928 , became the blues standard.
