Bo Weavil Jackson

Bo Weavil Jackson was an African American blues singer and guitarist. He lived in the first half of the 20th century, the dates and places of his birth and death are unknown. His real name was probably James Jackson.

Jackson was recorded as one of the first country blues singers in 1926 for the Paramount and Vocalion record labels . Vocalion marketed it under the name Sam Butler. His 78 rpm records are coveted by collectors, and his repertoire, which has been preserved on recordings and includes blues and gospel songs, has been re-released on a large number of LP and CD samplers .
