Boar's Head Inn

The Boar's Head Inn was an Elizabethan Era inn in Whitechapel , east London. In the beginning it was used as an inn theater. It was first mentioned as a theater stage in 1557. On November 28, 1594, Jane and Henry Poley leased it to Oliver Woodliffe for 21 years , with leasing beginning on March 25, 1595.

The Boar's Head Inn has been the stage for theater groups such as the Earl of Derby's Men , the Earl of Worcester's Men , the Prince Charles' Men, and Queen Anne's Men . It is considered to be the first known inn to be converted for theater purposes.
