history

Bensdorp- Wien produced the Bobby bar for the first time in 1967 . On the packaging, instead of the O, a head with a bowler hat , lorgnon , mustache and bow tie was depicted. The Unilever GesmbH took over in 1973 Bensdorp GmbH and thus entered the confectionery industry. In 1986 Jacobs Suchard took over Bensdorp. The chocolate bar line was relocated from Tulln to Salzburg / Grödig in 1987, to the Mirabell branch founded in 1948. In 1994 the plant was sold to the Tyrolean Pöll family. This marked the beginning of the Austrian private company Salzburg Schokolade. In 1996 the company merged with Salzburg Sweets.

On the occasion of Bobby's 40th anniversary, nostalgia packaging was reintroduced in 2007, the distinctive features of which are Count Bobby's head, the idiosyncratic lettering and the horizontal stripes. In 2014 a takeover by Dr. Philipp Harmer Beteiligungs-GmbH with Christian Schügerl as managing partner. Bobby has also been advertised on Facebook since February 2015.

Product variants

Bobby chocolate bars are available in three flavors: caramel, banana and chocolate. In addition, new flavors are constantly being introduced, such as strawberry, rum-coconut or peanut.
