Bobby Aylward ( Irish Riobárd Aighleart , born April 1, 1955 ) is an Irish politician ( Fianna Fáil ) and was a member of the Dáil Éireann , the lower house of the Irish Parliament , from 2007 to 2011 .

Aylward was born in 1955 to Bob Aylward . He attended the Kildalton Agricultural College in Piltown .

He was a member of Kilkenny County Council from 1992 to 2007 and served as its chairman from 2003 to 2004. He was also a member of the South East Regional Authority from 1994 to 2004 and of the Southern and Eastern Regional Assembly from 1999 to 2004 . Here, too, he held the office of chairman. In the South East Regional Authority from 2000 to 2001 and in the Southern and Eastern Regional Assembly from 2002 to 2003. From 1999 to 2004 he was Director of the Port of Waterford . In Southern Fisheries Board Aylward from 2000 to 2007 member.

In May 2007, he was in the constituency of Carlow-Kilkenny voted for Fianna Fáil in the 30th Dáil Éireann. Originally, his brother and party colleague Liam Aylward always ran for this constituency in the previous elections . However, when he stopped running in 2007, his brother ran instead. In the next elections in February 2011, Bobby Aylward could not defend his seat and thus left the Dáil Éireann after four years.

Aylward is married and has three children, two sons and a daughter.
