Bobby Smith (athlete)

Bobby Smith (actually Robert Smith; born March 31, 1929 ) is a former American pole vaulter .

In 1955 he won silver at the Pan American Games in Mexico City .

In 1949 and 1950 he was starting NCAA champions for San Diego State University . On February 5, 1955, he set his personal best of 4.54 m in Los Angeles .
