Bobok (artist)
Bobok , actually Markus Giltjes (born October 26, 1966 in Emmerich ) is a German painter, musician and media artist.
Life
After his first exhibitions, Giltjes first studied fine art and painting in Cologne and then visual communication at the HFBK Hamburg . This is where the first electronic works were created on the computer, for example Boiler ++ or pits .
In parallel with painting and media art, Giltjes worked as a musician, drummer and producer. For a while he worked in the German New Wave scene and at the same time played as a drummer for Invisible Limits , Girls Under Glass ( Gray in Gray ), Project Pitchfork , Catastrophe Ballet and Sleeping Dogs Wake . Giltjes drummed for the German new wave band Pink Turns Blue from 1986 to 1990 and since the re-union in 2003 Giltjes has been working in the background as a media maker. Markus Giltjes has been working as Bobok in the Lüneburg Heath since 2000.
