Bochum Historian Prize

The Bochumer Historikerpreis is a science award that is awarded by the Ruhr University Bochum , the City of Bochum, the Sparkasse Bochum Foundation and the Ruhr Area Library Foundation. The patron is the former Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hannelore Kraft .

The Bochum Historians Prize is one of the most prestigious awards that history science in Germany has to award. The prize, endowed with 25,000 euros, has been awarded every three years since 2002. It honors outstanding achievements in the field of economic and social history, which have received a great deal of national and international attention.
