The family company was founded in 1959 by Hans Bockholdt under the name "Blitz-Blank". After several name changes, the company has been operating under the name "Bockholdt GmbH & Co. KG" since 2020.
The company specializes in cleaning buildings, industrial plants and clinics. a. also offers services such as industrial climbers or pest control . With around 5,000 employees in 16 locations in Northern Germany, Bockholdt is one of the largest employers in the north. The company has been a member of the European Research Association for Cleaning and Hygiene Technology (FRT) since 2008 and is certified in accordance with several industrial standards, most recently in 2010 in the area of the environment in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001 .
The company is involved in social projects, economic networks and educational initiatives such as "bizkids" and "foodregio".
